Can Claude Code build financial reporting from Xero?
Yes, and quite well. It will write the extract, model the data and produce reports. What it cannot do is keep doing it: there is no maintained pipeline behind it, so the build is yours to own, monitor and repair every time a vendor changes an endpoint.
Why would I pay for VibeCFO if I can build it?
Because the build is the cheap part and the maintenance is not. Twenty-seven-odd pipelines, each with its own auth, rate limits and pagination, all drifting independently. We do that so it is not your job, and the row-level governance, the standing instructions and the knowledge layer come with it.
Can I use Claude with VibeCFO instead of choosing?
Yes, and plenty of people do. The VibeCFO MCP lets you point Claude at your own VibeCFO data, read-only and governed by the same rules as everything else. You get your assistant and a warehouse somebody else keeps alive.
What does building it yourself actually cost?
