VibeCFO vs Float.
Float does one job and does it well: it turns live Xero or QuickBooks Online data into a rolling 13-week and monthly cash flow forecast with scenarios, and says most users have one working in under five minutes. VibeCFO is the alternative when the ledger is MYOB, when the answer needs the job, roster, stock or ecommerce systems around the ledger, or when you need reporting beyond the cash view.
Speed and focus. Float says most users connect their ledger and have a working forecast in under five minutes, the trial is 14 days without a card, every plan includes unlimited users, and it is quicker to a first result than we are. The forecast itself is mature: 13-week, weekly and monthly views out to 36 months on Growth and Scale, eight scenarios with budget lines you can switch on and off, invoices and bills mapped to the dates they are expected to be paid, recurring costs suggested from your history, comments and mentions on budget lines, and consolidation with currency conversion on Scale. If the question is what cash will do over the next quarter, it answers it cleanly.
Checked against their own site in October 2026, Float connects two ledgers, Xero and QuickBooks Online, with Sage Intacct and iplicit listed as coming soon. It names no MYOB connection and no operational system - no jobs, roster, stock, ecommerce or point of sale - and its site describes no API and no file import (budgets can be pasted in from a spreadsheet). It is built for cash: its help centre says it does not do three-way forecasting, and nothing on its site describes reports or alerts sent on a schedule.
The same eleven questions we ask of everyone.
Graded by who does the work, not by who could theoretically manage it. The bottom row goes against us, because it is true.

VibeCFO and Float, answered.
What is the difference between VibeCFO and Float?
Float does one job and does it well: it turns live Xero or QuickBooks Online data into a rolling 13-week and monthly cash flow forecast with scenarios, and says most users have one working in under five minutes. VibeCFO is the alternative when the ledger is MYOB, when the answer needs the job, roster, stock or ecommerce systems around the ledger, or when you need reporting beyond the cash view.
What is the best alternative to Float?
If a short-term cash forecast off Xero or QuickBooks Online is the job, Float is very good at it and quick to set up. VibeCFO is the alternative when the ledger is MYOB, when the forecast needs operational inputs - committed jobs, rostered hours, stock on order - or when you want reporting beyond cash, composed for the business and sent on a schedule.
Does Float connect to MYOB, job management or rostering systems?
No. Checked against Float's own site in October 2026, it connects Xero and QuickBooks Online, with Sage Intacct and iplicit listed as coming soon. MYOB is not among them, and no job management, rostering, stock, ecommerce or point of sale system is named. VibeCFO reads MYOB alongside Xero and QuickBooks Online, plus systems such as simPRO, WorkflowMax, Deputy, Cin7 Core and Shopify.
Is Float or VibeCFO better for cash flow forecasting?
For a 13-week cash forecast built from a Xero or QuickBooks Online ledger, Float is purpose-built and we would not pretend otherwise. VibeCFO forecasts from live data and your own assumptions, asks for the inputs no system holds rather than inventing them, and reads the operational systems that move cash before it reaches the ledger. If the cash forecast is the whole job, start with Float; if it is one question among many, that is VibeCFO's lane.
